Councillor Andrew Achoba is serving his second term on Slave Lake Town Council for 2025–2029, continuing his commitment to community well-being, regional cooperation, and long-term prosperity for residents. A pioneering resident of Slave Lake, Andrew brings extensive leadership experience from the social services sector, where he has worked with children, youth, adults, and caregivers across Slave Lake, High Prairie, Peace River, and surrounding northern communities.

Andrew has been deeply involved with Indigenous communities throughout the region and works closely with local and regional partners to improve access to supports across the lifespan. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that active engagement is essential for community development. For him, improvement is not just about meetings and motions, but about showing up, volunteering, and promoting accountability and transparency in leadership. He brings this practical, hands-on approach to his role on council, with particular focus on housing, social supports, infrastructure, and opportunities that help families and businesses thrive.

Outside of council and his professional responsibilities, Andrew enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. He is an active participant in the Slave Lake Adult soccer group and a long-time fan of both soccer and basketball, which he sees as important tools for building connection, inclusion, and social harmony in the community.

In this new term, Councillor Achoba remains committed to listening, learning, and working collaboratively with residents, regional partners, and neighbouring Indigenous communities to help build a resilient, inclusive, and opportunity rich future for Slave Lake.
