Volunteer Organizations

MADD Slave Lake

Our Mission: To stop impaired driving and support the victims of this violent crime. It offers many volunteer opportunities for those who want to make a difference.

Slave Lake Adult Education

We provide instruction in small groups and one-to-one. We offer a variety of courses to upgrade, refresh and polish your basic skills. We can help if you need to upgrade your skills for apprenticeship, work or post-secondary entrance. No matter how much trouble you had learning as a child, you can learn to read, write and do math with our specialized approach. 

Travel Alberta

Alberta always offers something new and thrilling. From adrenaline-fueled pursuits to unique cultural experiences, we have events and activities to amaze and entertain every visitor.

Lesser Slave Lake Multi-Cultural Association

The Lesser Slave Lake Multicultural Association (LSLMA) is a group of community members operating as a Not-for-Profit Society that aims to support ethnocultural groups in High Prairie, Slave Lake, and Wabasca as a cornerstone for ongoing collaboration, understanding the value of diversity and inclusion, and sharing cultural enrichment. We promote understanding and awareness of the cultural richness in our area through community events and programs.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 110

The Royal Canadian Legion offers year-round events and opportunities as a host for events. From bingo to steak night and Remembrance Day ceremonies. They also host graduations such as those for cadets.

Elks Society

Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks of Canada Lodge #379. Host events at the Legacy Centre at the Elks Hall.

Kin Canada - Slave Lake Kinettes

At Kin Canada, we're more than just a service organization; we're a vibrant network of volunteers dedicated to positively impacting the country. With hundreds of clubs and thousands of members, we empower individuals to identify and address the unique needs of their local communities.

Northern Lakes College

We will work directly with you to figure out your organization's training needs and then customize a course or program to meet your specific needs. If you are unsure of the specific training needs required, we offer assessment services to help us determine what training might be beneficial.  We will prepare and present a training plan for your review and approval. 

Sawridge First Nation

The Sawridge First Nation is located at the east end of the Lesser Slave Lake in Alberta near the Town of Slave Lake.   The Sawridge First Nation is an original signatory to Treaty #8 and has been a leader in self – self-determination and Economic Development.

Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation

The Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation is a hub for a variety of programs offered to schools and day camps from Slave Lake and surrounding communities. Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory (LSLBO) and park staff manage and coordinate these programs, offering unique and valuable education opportunities to students and teachers.

Animal Rescue Committee Slave Lake

Animal Rescue Committee is a not-for-profit group of volunteers who aim to work with the town to rescue homeless and abandoned animals in our community and surrounding areas. We wish to provide veterinary treatment to sick or injured animals and temporary foster homes while waiting for responsible permanent homes. We encourage the spaying and neutering of animals to reduce overpopulation, suffering, and disease. We promote responsible pet ownership, humane treatment, compassion and respect for all animals.

Native Friendship Centre Society

The Friendship Centre Movement began in the mid-1950s when local groups were formed across Canada to represent the interests of Indigenous peoples migrating from outlying reserves and Métis Settlements to urban areas. These groups became known as Friendship Centres.
