Landfill & Residential Waste Pick-Up Schedule

The pick-up schedule for the Town of Slave Lake is as follows:

  • Monday - No residential pick-up
  • Tuesday - No residential pick-up
  • Wednesday - Everything North of 6th Avenue Southeast, Northeast
  • Thursday - Northwest and South of 6th Avenue Southeast
  • Friday - Southwest and Gloryland  

Landfill Services

The Lesser Slave Regional Landfill is located approximately 12 kilometres west on Hwy No. 2 outside of The Town of Slave Lake in Widewater. It provides designated areas for the safe disposal and recycling of various materials, including:

  • Batteries
  • Cardboard
  • Construction waste
  • Electronics
  • Metals
  • Paint
  • Papers
  • Plastic
  • Tin cans
  • Tires
  • Yard waste

Hours of Operation

  • Sunday - Closed
  • Monday - Closed
  • Tuesday - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Closed on Statutory Holidays

Visiting the Landfill

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before closing for regular loads and 30 minutes before closing for large loads to allow adequate time to sort and unload. Be advised that there may be a wait at the scales, so allow additional time to weigh in and out.

Safety and efficiency are our priority. Please follow the signs, including the red and green lights, throughout the facility and be patient as our staff assist customers at the facility and on the telephone.
