Community Services

The Community Services department oversees recreation and aquatic services, parks and playgrounds, trails, culture and heritage, community programming, special events, and related facility operations.

We work in partnership with community groups, schools, volunteers, and regional organizations to deliver programs and spaces that bring people together, promote well-being, and strengthen community connection. From maintaining parks and sports fields to supporting arts, culture, and year-round recreation opportunities, our focus is on creating welcoming places for residents and visitors of all ages.

Our goal is to help create opportunities, strengthen our connections, and ensure that everyone in our community has access to safe, welcoming spaces. Whether you’re looking to join a program, get involved, or simply find out what’s going on in town, you’ve come to the right place.

We are committed to responsible stewardship, continuous improvement, and responsive service delivery. Thank you for being part of the vibrant and growing Slave Lake community. “Working together, building a better community” is at the heart of what we do. If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
