A message from the Slave Lake RCMP Detachment:
Slave Lake, Alta. – Slave Lake RCMP is proud to report that, for the past 3 Quarters, property crime has been consistently decreasing. July-August 2023 saw a decrease of 3%, September-December 2023 a decrease of 29% and January-March 2024 a decrease of 5%.
Members of the Slave Lake RCMP have been hard at work to keep your community safe. Initiatives such as increased patrols in hot spot areas, approved overtime to enhance visibility and prolific offender targeting, among other things, have all been used to enhance the RCMP’s efficiency in your community. In the next Quarter, the Slave Lake RCMP will continue to focus on this area by launching several other initiatives directly targeting property crime offenders.
Although stats revealing decreases in property crime show significant progress, RCMP continues to encourage residents to report any instances of property crime either in person or by phone through the local detachment, or online.
“This work could not have been done without the help of our partners at the Town of Slave Lake, as well as the help we received from all of you in our community” said Slave Lake RCMP Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Casey Bruyns. “Potential hot spots and high-risk areas are identified thanks to the information and complaints brought to us by the public and we ask you to please continue to give us the information we need to keep you safe”.
