[ARCHIVED] RCMP Investigate Collision and Theft in the Mitsue Area

RCMP

Slave Lake, Alberta - On December 1 at 6:50 PM, RCMP and emergency crews were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on the Slave Lake Pulp Mill property.  The vehicle rolled over and it's occupants fled on foot.  Employees helped find the passenger on the third floor of a nearby building where he was treated for minor injuries.  The driver of the vehicle was not immediately located and a police dog was brought in to search the area.  It was then determined that the driver had stolen another vehicle and departed the scene.

The stolen vehicle and suspect were located by the Athabasca RCMP on December 2.

Halden Thunder (18) of Athabasca has been charged with six counts relating to the incident at the Slave Lake Pulp Mill including offences under the Criminal Code, Petty Trespass Act and Traffic Safety Act.  He is set to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court on December 6, 2017.
