SLAVE LAKE PARENT LINK GETS A NEW HOME

SLAVE LAKE, AB --- On August 1st, 2017 Slave Lake Parent Link began renovations on the old Family Care Clinic, which will be the new home to the program later this summer.
The Town of Slave Lake, Slave Lake Parent Link have entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Seniors and Housing to lease the old Family Care Clinic, located on 3rd Ave. N.E.
Ruth Rolfe Director of Community Services for the Town stated, “It has been a collaborative effort working with Housing, both at the Provincial and local level, to come to an agreement that will work for all parties.
“I really appreciate all the hard work from everyone involved, including my own team members, Jaimie from Parent link and Haylie from FCSS. They gone above and beyond in their efforts to obtain a new home for Parent link - and their passion for working with children and their parents shows in their enthusiasm,” Rolfe added.
Jaime Norberg, the Slave Lake Parent Link Program Lead stated that the growth potential will help grow the program in the future, “The hope is to bring Slave Lake a family resource center in the future, with multiple services within the building.”
“Our government is pleased to support Slave Lake Parent Link by leasing the facility to them,” said Lori Sigurdson, Minister of Seniors and Housing. “This is a great example of how our government is collaborating with organizations like Parent Link to make life better for Albertan.”
Tru-Line Construction has been hired to renovate the old Family Care Clinic. Dependent on Construction programs at the new facility should start by the middle of September.
Until the new facility is opened, Parent Link Programs will continue to operate out of the Community Christian Church, located on 6th Street S.E.
