[ARCHIVED] Downtown Revitalization Project - Final Phase

G2379

Starting today (May 14, 2025), the Town will commence the final phase of the Downtown Revitalization Project. This phase focuses on improvements to the east boulevard along Main Street, between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

The first step involves the removal of existing trees in this section. These trees are aging and have caused significant surface heaving, making it difficult to achieve proper elevations for reconstruction. Once revitalization work is complete, new trees will be replanted in their place.

Sawcutting along existing curb and gutter for removal is scheduled tomorrow. Curb and gutter removal is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, following the long weekend.

Please note:

  • Parking stalls along the work zone will be temporarily closed.
  • Alternative parking is available at Rennie Hall Plaza, behind the mall (accessible via the alley), along 3rd Avenue North, 2nd Avenue Northeast, and behind RBC.

The work is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.

We kindly ask all residents and visitors to observe construction signage and follow directions from crews during active work hours.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this important project.
