Slave Lake, Alta. – On March 14, 2025, at approximately 8:53 a.m., Slave Lake RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle that had collided with a snowbank in the area of Main Street. Officers attended and located a dark coloured SUV, which fled the area upon arrival, causing damage to a nearby business.
The Slave Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Unit covertly followed the suspect vehicle from a distance to ensure the safety of the public, as the suspect was driving in a dangerous manner. The vehicle came to a stop on Highway 2 leading to the safe arrest of the suspect by Slave Lake RCMP General Duty officers.
Kevin Joseph Brezuk, a 35-year-old resident of Red Deer, Alta., has been charged with the following offences:
- Operate vehicle while prohibited
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
- Mischief over $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
Kevin was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order. He is scheduled to appear in court on Apr. 9, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake.
