Town Council is giving consideration to amending Land Use Bylaw #22-2007. Now that a Permanent Shelter location has been chosen, the amendments proposed below will move the zoning on each of the parcels not selected for the Permanent Shelter back to the zoning that existed prior to the Permanent Shelter Site Selection process.
Amending Bylaw #12-2024 proposes amendments to the Land Use District Map of the Land Use Bylaw #22-2007 by redistricting as follows:

Lot 12, Block 1, Plan 212 0278 located at 7 Street NE (adjacent to Recycle Centre)
From CDC – Council Direct Control District to BI – Business Industrial District and
I – Institutional District.

Part of Lot 4, Block 3, Plan 912 3753 located at 305 - 6 Avenue SW (Former Daycare Site)
From CDC – Council Direct Control District to I – Institutional District.

Lots 7 & 8, Block 8, Plan 1915 HW located at 213 – 3 Avenue NE (Former Health Clinic)
From CDC – Council Direct Control District to C1 – Downtown Commercial Mixed-Use District
If you or any group of citizens either support or are opposed to this proposed amendment, please deliver a letter to the Town Office no later than June 26, 2024, or verbally make a presentation at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
