The Town of Slave Lake is located 252 km northwest of Edmonton in the Province of Alberta, at the east end of Lesser Slave Lake. Slave Lake has an estimated population of 7,000. The Town of Slave Lake has decided to advertise an expression of interest regarding a potential partnership with the Town to develop a parcel of land in the southwest quadrant: Lot 78, Plan 932 0620 – Sunset Place.
Sunset Place consists of 17 acres of undeveloped land. The Town wishes to partner with a land developer to create a multi lot residential subdivision, developed to a full urban standard. The subdivision is intended to house a mix of residential uses ranging from single family, mobile home, medium, and high density developments that will provide Slave Lake residents with a mix of affordable housing options for home ownership.
Water, sanitary sewer, shallow services as well as a collector road (i.e., 6 Avenue SW) have been extended to Sunset Place. Storm water in the area is managed through an overland drainage network. There will likely be the need to establish a storm water pond within the subdivision to handle storm flows for the development.
The Town of Slave Lake’s Planning Department will accept written Expressions of Interest until 3:00 pm., Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
Expression of Interest shall be emailed to planning@slavelake.ca clearly marked “Expression of Interest Sunset Place”. Transmittal of emails should be successfully completed to planning@slavelake.ca before the scheduled closing time of 3:00 pm.
Should the Town receive Expressions of Interest, the Town may proceed with a Request for Proposal for the subsequent development of the noted lands.
