Notice of Public Hearing

PUBLIC HEARING

October 3, 2023 @ 7:00 P.M. IN TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS

BYLAW #19-2023 (Amend the Land Use Bylaw #22-2007)

 

Town Council is giving consideration to amending Land Use Bylaw #22-2007.

 

Amending Bylaw #19-2023 proposes amendments to Sections 3, 88 (3), and 110 (3) by adding definitions for “Shelter – Permanent”, “Shelter – Temporary” and removing the existing definition for “Shelter”.  The bylaw also adds “Shelter – Temporary” as a use to the I – Institutional District and removes “Shelter” as a use from the I – Institutional District and the C2 - Secondary Commercial District. 

 

Amending Bylaw #19-2023 also proposes amendments to the Land Use District Map of the Land Use Bylaw #22-2007 by redistricting as follows:

 

"A

Lot 12, Block 1, Plan 212 0278 located at 7 Street NE (adjacent to Recycle Centre)

From BI – Business Industrial District and I – Institutional District to CDC – Council Direct Control District

 

 

"A

Part of Lot 4, Block 3, Plan 912 3753 located at 305 - 6 Avenue SW (Former Daycare Site)

          From I – Institutional District to CDC – Council Direct Control District

 

"A

Lots 7 & 8, Block 8, Plan 1915 HW located at 213 – 3 Avenue NE (Former Medical Clinic)

From C1 – Downtown Commercial Mixed-Use District to CDC – Council Direct Control District

  

"A

Part of Lot 1, Plan 992 3252 located at 901 Caribou Trail NW (Firehall)

         From I – Institutional District to CDC – Council Direct Control District

 

If you or any group of citizens either support or are opposed to this proposed amendment, please deliver a letter to the Town Office no later than September 28, 2023, or verbally make a presentation at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
