[ARCHIVED] Outdoor Public Gatherings - Parks, Outdoor Rinks, Walking Trails

Public Health Orders and Outdoor Activities

Many people are enjoying the warm weather and spending time outdoors. The Town of Slave Lake wants to remind everyone that the current Public Health Orders do limit the size of outdoor social gatherings to 10 people.  This includes those who are using the Town's outdoor facilities like trails, sledding hills, playgrounds, the skateboard park, and skating rinks. Groups larger than 10 people may be subject to enforcement.

As warm conditions are causing the outdoor skating rinks to deteriorate, usage is not recommended.  When the weather cools again, the SLIP volunteers will do their best to bring the rinks back to good condition.  Thank you to the volunteers who do this work!

As rinks are restored, the maximum number of people on each rink, while we are under the current Public Health Order, is as follows:
  • Hilda Eben Park: 10 people on main rink and 5 people on the small ice surface,
  • Shurter Park: 10 people at the skating surface, and
  • E.G. Wahlstrom School: 10 people at the rink."
