Slave Lake, AB – During the week of July 1st – 6th the Slave Lake RCMP received seventy nine (79) calls to service. Of these calls, traffic collisions, impaired operation of motor vehicles, and assaults were the most prevalent. The following are a sample of some of these calls:
July 2nd, 2020 - Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
The RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver. Members were able to located the suspect and an impaired investigation was conducted. The driver provided a breath sample and was over the legal limit. The vehicle was towed and he is scheduled to appear in court September 2020.
July 4th, 2020 – Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
The RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving an establishment in town. Members were able to located the vehicle and an impaired investigation was started. The driver provided a breath sample and blew over the legal limit. The vehicle was towed and the accused was released on court documents. She is scheduled to appear in court September 2020.
July 5th, 2020 - Damage to Property
The RCMP received a report of a male damaging property inside a residence. The male was located and arrested for mischief. He was released on court documents and is scheduled to appear in court this year.
July 6th, 2020 - Theft of Vehicle
The RCMP received a call regarding a single vehicle collision. Witnesses report that a vehicle was damaged and in the ditch in the northeast quadrant of town. Members conducted an investigation and with the assistance of a neighbouring detachment, were able to identify the suspect. The suspect was released on court documents.

Alberta is now at stage two of the planned Province reopening which includes gatherings of up to 50 people. Several businesses in town are open but must take precautions to keep Albertans safe.
