Slave Lake RCMP makes arrest after attempted break and enter

Slave Lake, Alta. – On Feb. 11, 2026, Slave Lake RCMP responded to a call of a male attempting to gain entry to a residence with a large object in hand. RCMP attended and located the suspect, who was brandishing a machete, nearby. The suspect was arrested without incident and had not gained entry to the residence. 

As a result of the investigation, Jeremy Ladeur (37), a resident of Slave Lake, was charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence;
  • Uttering threats;
  • Mischief under $5000; and
  • Failure to comply with court order

Ladeur was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Earth Creek on Feb. 17, 2026.
