COVID-19 Update from Heart River Housing

Heart River Housing

As of May 20th, there are NO cases of COVID-19 within our facilities and we continue to work hard to keep it that way.

Please refer to our previous updates for preventive measures implemented to date.

We are cautiously moving forward with outdoor visits for lodge residents where appropriate and safe.  Each resident who is not required to isolate will be allowed outdoor visits with their designated essential visitor and one other person (maximum group of 3, including the resident) while observing physical/social distancing requirements.  The lodge will set up an outdoor tent in a location on the property.

How will this work:

Outdoor visits must be pre-arranged with each lodge manager. Times are as follows:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 10:00am to 3:00pm

Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00pm to 9:00pm

There will be a maximum of 45 minutes per visit, leaving enough time to sanitize the visiting area before and after each use.

As of now, one visit will be allowed per week to ensure everyone gets a chance to visit their loved ones.

One essential visitor must be designated by the resident, or their alternate decision-maker. This means only a single individual is designated and not meant to change.  The designated essential visitor must be over 18 years of age.

Prior to each visit, every visitor must fill out a screening questionnaire and have their temperature checked.

Each visitor’s electronic devices such as cell phones or tablets will be wiped down prior to the visit.

Visitors and resident must wear the masks or face shields and gloves throughout the visit; masks or face shields and gloves will be provided.

During the visit, visitors must maintain proper social distancing.  Each lodge will have a table to separate the visitors from the residents.

Each lodge will sanitize the area before and after each visit.

All gifts must be left with lodge staff to sanitize.

Q   How do I set up a time to visit?

Call your lodge manager to book a time a maximum of once per week. Please only show up if you have set up a time prior to coming.

Q   Can I bring my kids?

This directive allows for only 3 at a time; the resident, one designated visitor plus one other person. There is no age restriction for the other person.

Q   What precautions should I take before the visit?

A questionnaire will be provided and needs to be completed as well as your temperature checked by lodge staff. A mask or face shield always needs to be worn and hands must be sanitized.

Any questions or concerns, please contact your local lodge manager or Heart River Housing CAO Lindsay Pratt 780-523-5282 office 780-523-8518 cell or email lindsay@heartriverhousing.ca.
