Slave Lake RCMP Investigate an Arson

Arson SuspectSlave Lake, Alta. -  The Slave Lake RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining any information regarding an arson attempt at the Northern Star Hotel on April 14th, 2020.  At approximately 9:37 AM on April 15th, the RCMP received a call advising there were burn marks along the side of the hotel and an empty jerry-can in the area.

Security footage was reviewed and it appeared that on April 14th at 9:12 PM a female suspect approached the south side of the building. The suspect tosses the jerry-can to the floor and started a fire.  She then walked out of camera view. The female is described as the following:

- slim build

- under 6 feet in height

- carrying a backpack

- wearing a hoodie

- backpack and hoodie have flourescent stripes


The Slave Lake RCMP continues to investigate this matter including identifying the individual(s).  Anyone with information to assist with the investigation, please contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3999 or your local police detachment.  If you see something suspicious, report it to your local police.
