Slave Lake, AB – During the week of March 20th – 26th the Slave Lake RCMP received seventy three (73) calls to service. Of these calls, mischiefs, suspicious persons, and liquor act occurrences were the most prevalent. The following are a sample of some of these calls:
March 22nd, 2020 - Missing Person Reported
The RCMP received a report that a mother has not heard from her daughter in over 24 hours. Members conducted neighbourhood inquires and located the daughter at a hotel in town with no concerns for her safety.
March 23rd, 2020 - Assault
The RCMP received a report from a female victim that she was just assaulted by her partner. Members attended the residence and arrested the male. He was released on documents with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court June 2020.
March 24th, 2020 – Assault
The RCMP received a report of two individuals fighting on the street in front of Dom’s Alehouse. Members attended and arrested the male who initiated the assault. The victim was taken to Hospital and received twelve stitches. The accused was released on documents and is scheduled to appear in court June 2020.
March 25th, 2020 – Mischief
The RCMP received a report of an intoxicated male at the Thompson Landing apartments. The complainant advised the male also damaged the alarm system from the wall. Members attended and arrested the male. He was released on documents and is scheduled to appear in court June 2020.
Public health and isolation orders have been issued across the province under the Public Health Act. There is now a reporting tool the community can utilize to report persons not abiding by the orders issued.
