Slave Lake RCMP investigate armed robbery

RCMP News Update

Slave Lake, Alta. - On December 22, 2018 at 12:30 PM, the Slave Lake RCMP was dispatched to an armed robbery at the East Side convenience store.  A male was alleged to have confronted the store clerk with a weapon and demanded cash from the register.  After several minutes of unsuccessfully attempting to open the cash drawer, the suspect is alleged to have assaulted the clerk before leaving the store with the entire register.  Immediate patrols were made for the suspect and two persons of interest were detained.  The two were released without charge.

The suspect male has been identified and charges are pending.  The 25 year old Slave Lake man is facing charges including (but not limited to) robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon, break and enter and trafficking in stolen property.
