One of the Town of Slave Lake Council’s Strategic Plan priorities is Economic Health. The Town has developed an Economic Development Action Plan as part of its ongoing efforts to attract economic investment and tourism in the community. One of the actions of this plan is to create a new visual identity for the Town of Slave Lake. This new visual identity, along with branding will assist in creating meaningful connection with target audiences including prospective businesses, residents, and visitors, and to differentiate our community from competing options.
Following Council’s approval of this project, Town staff have formed a project team and initiated this work. Incite Solutions Inc. is contracted by the Town to assist and provide technical expertise on this project. Incite will be carrying out public engagement with the community.
Over the next couple weeks, working with the Town, Incite will be connecting with key stakeholders for a short interview. A public survey will also be launched to allow everyone in the community to participate. The information gained through these two processes is intended to help capture the “essence” of Slave Lake, to help inform the visual identity and branding process.
Incite is expected to bring its findings to the Town by mid-May, and Town staff are hopeful that the new visual identity & branding will be used to promote the Town of Slave Lake and the community as early as this summer, as part of our marketing strategy.
