With Summer around the corner many residents will be eager to cool off at the water park in Schurter Park. We are striving to have the park up and running soon, but a few tasks will need to be completed before the park is fully operational.
Earlier this year a water line that provides water to the park, as well as the southeast quadrant of the town, broke. The town’s crews did an excellent job ensuring that residents in the Southeast continued to receive unhindered access to water. Given the weather at the time and COVID-19 restrictions preventing the use of the park, this took priority.
Repairs going toward the water park are currently being pushed forward and will be going to council for discussion. Once that is approved and the repairs are completed then the water park will be open for everyone to enjoy. This is a big job for our crews, but they are eager and up to the task. Community Services has a strong focus on this project and want to ensure that the residents of Slave Lake can enjoy as many amenities in the Town as possible moving forward.
