Slave Lake, Alta. - In December 2020, the General Investigation Section of the Slave Lake RCMP began an investigation into an individual suspected of trafficking methamphetamine and heroin into the communities of Slave Lake, Wabasca, and Athabasca.
Slave Lake RCMP worked in unison with Members of the Athabasca RCMP, Desmarais RCMP, and the Eastern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit to locate this individuals base of operations. As a result of this investigation, on January 16th, a judicially authorized search warrant was executed in a rural location in the area of Slave Lake and large quantities of what is suspected to be methamphetamine and heroin were located and seized.
The RCMP also located and seized several illegal firearms and stolen property in a nearby location. One individual was arrested and charged on multiple offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
