Effective Friday, Nov 27, 2020, in response to the mandatory public health measures imposed by the Alberta Government, which are intended to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Town of Slave Lake will be implementing the following changes:
- The Town Office will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Staff will be available by phone Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
- The Legacy Centre (Elk’s Hall) will be closed for public usage/bookings.
- The Multi-Recreation Centre (MRC) will have the following changes to operations:
- All sports are suspended. This include ice & fieldhouse users.
- Arenas will be closed.
- Fieldhouse will continue to be available for individuals who may want to use the tracks, fieldhouse, and the fitness area. These are intended for individual use only. These spaces must be booked. Maximum number of people permitted on each track will be 2 customers at a time. Cohorts and groups will not be able to use the fieldhouse, tracks, or fitness area.
- The regular operating hours of the MRC will be:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM &
- Sunday: Closed.
- The Town is working with Susan’s Kitchen to help them maintain their business operations.
- Most upcoming events & programs will be cancelled and staff are contacting those affected. The PD Day Camp originally scheduled for Friday will be cancelled.
- Outdoor skating rinks may still be used but no more than 10 people at a time. The rinks will not be actively monitored by Town staff and we encourage residents to voluntary comply (this is still be enforceable by the Province).
