Notice of Public Hearing for November 3rd - Bylaw #22-2020

Notice of Public Hearing

PUBLIC HEARING

November 3, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. IN TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS

BYLAW #22-2020 (Amend the Land Use Bylaw #22-2007)

Town Council is giving consideration to amending Land Use Bylaw #22-2007.

The amending bylaw proposes amendments to Section 42 by adding a definition for Shopping Center Directory Sign and by adding Section 54C.

The purpose of this proposed amendment is to facilitate signage for the C5 – Shopping Center District. This amendment provides a definition for Shopping Center Directory Sign and regulations for that use.

If you or any group of citizens support or are opposed to the proposed amendments please deliver a letter to the Town Office no later than Thursday, October 29, 2020 or verbally make a presentation at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

Due to AHS COVID-19 rules for social distancing, we must limit the number of people in Council Chambers and the Town Office Lobby. Should you arrive and the building be at capacity, you may be asked to wait outside the building.  Every effort will be made to allow people to wait either in Council Chambers or the Town Office Lobby however, this is again dependent on number of people and social distancing rules.   Administration will be coordinating the rotation of people who wish to speak at the meeting. Please note that while seating is very limited within Council Chambers, the meeting will be broadcast on the lobby television so that all can hear what has been said. That said, should you be required to wait outside, the Council Meeting is available to be viewed on YouTube on a mobile device. The password to the public Wi-Fi will be posted on the outside doors just before the meeting, so that data charges will not apply.

For more details, copies of Bylaw #22-2007 and proposed amending Bylaw #22-2020 are available for inspection at the Town office.  For further information contact Laurie Skrynyk or Samantha Dyck at 780-849-8004.
