    Hazardous products are common in many households. Many of these products used in our homes have dangerous characteristics and should be disposed of properly to ensure people and the environment are protected. The Town of Slave Lake will be holding our Annual Toxic Round-up with Clean Harbors Canada, Inc. for your household hazardous waste management needs:

WASTE CLASSIFICATIONS SPECIFICATIONS

 










Aerosols

  • Aerosol cans < 20 oz.
  • Spray Paint
  • Pesticides-Insecticides or Herbicides
  • Petroleum Distillates
  • Alcohol
  • Butane

Notes:

  • Consumer Commodity
  • Remove the spray tips if the cap is missing.
  • Aerosols may also be packed into drums or yard box. 
  • Any strong outer container will suffice for aerosols. 








Batteries

Separate the different types.

  • Nickel Cadmium Batteries – Batteries, dry, containing potassium hydroxide solid, 8, UN3028, PGIII, erg:154
  • Alkaline Batteries - Batteries, dry, containing potassium hydroxide solid, 8, UN3028, PGIII, erg:154
  • Sealed Lead Batteries - Batteries, wet, non-spillable, 8, UN2800, PGIII, erg:154
  • Auto Batteries - Batteries, wet, filled with acid, 8, UN2794, PGIII, erg:154
  • Lithium Batteries must be separated from other batteries. We can direct ship for disposal to a different vendor.
