Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision - Highway 2- On July 22, 2016 at approximately 2:20 a.m., Slave Lake RCMP, EMS and Fire Personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 2 approximately 52 kilometers South of Slave Lake. -> Click here to read more


July 15th, 2016- Contaminated Water Advisory

Contaminated Water Advisory Issued- Due to elevated levels of fecal coliforms currently present in the water of Lesser Slave Lake at Devonshire Beach (located within the North Zone of Alberta Health Services (AHS)), AHS is advising the public not to swim or wade from Devonshire Beach, effective immediately. -> Click here to read more


July 14th, 2016 - Notice of Intersection Closure

Effective July 16th the intersection the 6th Ave. S.E and 6th ST. S.E will be closed for construction. As per the Infrastructure Recovery program, the intersection will be closed in order to replace watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm services -> Click here to read more

June 29th, 2016 - Changes in Your Water: September 7, 2016

We are changing the disinfectant in our water treatment process from chlorine to chloramines. The changeover will affect all Town of Slave Lake water customers, including MD residents, on the distribution system. Due to scheduling conflicts, the changeover date for the chloramine disinfectant system is deferred to September, with a scheduled changeover date of September 7, 2016. -> Click here to read more


June 29th, 2016 - Canada Post Strike

Due to a possible Canada Post strike, residents are advised that all utility invoices, payments and property tax payments posted by mail may not be received by the Town of Slave Lake prior to the due date. Any payments received at the Town of Slave Lake after the noted due date will be subject to penalty. -> Click here to read more
