May 27, 2015 - Emergency Prepardness Guide

In an emergency, you will need some basic supplies. You may need to get by without power or tap water. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. You may have some of the items already, such as food, water and a battery-operated or crank flashlight. The key is to make sure they are organized and easy to find. May 27, 2015 - Wabasca Residents Update

Residents from the Hamlet of Wabasca, and Bigstone Cree Nation who are still displaced by the Wabasca wildfires are being advised to proceed to the Calling Lake Multiplex Reception Center or the Athabasca Regional Multiplex.If you still are being affected by the Wabasca fire and cannot get to either of these evacuation centers, please call Alberta Works at 780-849-7290. -> Click here to read more

May 26, 2015 - MD of Opportunity Evacuation Lifted

The hazard presented by the wildfire has been reduced and the evacuation order is being lifted for all RESIDENTS OF THE HAMLET OF WABASCA.The RCMP will monitor the movement of evacuees back to Wabasca. Patience and orderly behaviour is expected. -> Click here to read more

As of 5:30PM, May 26, 2015 the MD of Lesser Slave River has declared that the residents who were displaced because of the Fires on Old Smith Highway can now begin returning home. NOTE - RESIDENTS WILL STILL BE ON A 30 MINUTE EVACUATION NOTICE. -> Click here to read more
