May 6th, 2016 - Gift Card Collection

Transporting, storing, sorting and distributing material donations can be time consuming and can become expensive for the evacuees. Therefore The Town of Slave Lake is encouraging cash donations to organizations, with that Effective Monday May 9th, The Town of Slave Lake will be collecting gift cards that will be sent to reception centers for distribution to residents who have been displaced by the Fort McMurray Wildfires. -> Click here to read more

May 5th, 2016 - Town Declares Fire Ban within Town Limits

While the Town of Slave Lake is under no current threat of a wildfire, Mayor Tyler Warman has issued a fire ban within the town boundary, effective immediately. -> Click here to read more


May 5th, 2016 - Information for fire evacuees who have travelled to Slave Lake

The Town of Slave Lake has received enquiries about whether the Town will be setting up an evacuation centre. The Government of Alberta has not asked for an official evacuation site within Slave Lake, though local residents are opening up their homes and properties to evacuees. The Town of Slave Lake offer free pool use for evacuees to the Northern Lights Aquatic Centre, located at 1201 12 Avenue SE, at Northern Lakes College. -> Click here to read more
