Are you interested in being involved in keeping your community safe? The Chamber of Commerce is organizing a meeting which will be held in the Slave Lake Inn, Medallion Room on Wednesday, January 8th at 7:00 p.m. This will be the COP organizational meeting.
Mr. Ken Ferguson, who is a member of the Alberta COPA Board, has kindly agreed to attend and will be a great resource to get the program up and running. We have extended an invitation to the Westlock COP to also attend.

DEDICATED CAO AWARD
Gordon Lundy, Recovery Manager and Acting Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Slave Lake, received the prestigious CAO award during the Alberta Urban Municipal Affairs (AUMA) conference held last week in Calgary. The award is given in recognition of long term excellence and dedication to Municipal Government and Chief Administrative Management. The award is given based on outstanding contribution in the field of Muncipal Administration through a combination of long term experience, leadership, Council relations, Human Resource Management, Financial Managment, Strategic Planning, Financial Planning, respected and seen to have a high level of integrity. The Mayor must sign the award nomination form. Congratulations Gordon from Council and Staff on this prestigious award.

MULTI-REC CENTRE NEW HOURS
Opening at 8:00AM Monday to Friday
Effective October 15th, 2013, the Multi Recreation Centre will be open at 8:00AM, from Monday to Friday. We hope this may be a temporary change, and we are currently reviewing our service levels, staffing and budget with administration and Council.
