Slave Lake RCMP Investigate Identity Fraud

Slave Lake, Alta. -  In February 2020, the RCMP received several report of identity fraud from members of the community. These members reported that bank accounts and credit card applications have been created in their names through several financial institutions.

The RCMP conducted an investigation and obtained a judicially authorized warrant to obtain the suspects identity through his bank account. 

Daniel Kuhberg was arrested in Edmonton on March 23rd, 2020. He has been charged with two counts of identity fraud, fraud under $5000, trafficking in a forged document and forgery.  Daniel Kuhberg was released from custody following a judicial interim release hearing and is scheduled to appear in court this year.  

The Slave Lake RCMP continues to investigate this matter including identifying the individual(s).  Anyone with information to assist with the investigation, please contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3999 or your local police detachment.  If you see something suspicious, report it to your local police.
