Slave Lake, AB – During the week of May 3rd – 9th the Slave Lake RCMP received sixty two (62) calls to service. Of these calls, assaults, false alarms, and suspicious persons were the most prevalent. The following are a sample of some of these calls:
May 3rd, 2020 - Traffic Violation
While on patrol, the RCMP witnessed a vehicle fail to stop at an intersection while the light was red. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was issued a violation ticket. During the traffic stop, the Members saw alcohol in plain view and within reach of the driver. Another violation ticket was issued for that offence.
May 8th, 2020 – Trespassing
The RCMP received a report that a male was seen walking on the premises of a school during off school hours. The RCMP attended and located a male consuming alcohol in public. The alcohol was discarded and the male was issued two violation tickets.
May 5th, 2020 - Indecent Act
The RCMP was notified of an indecent act occurring in the South-west quadrant of town. The RCMP attended and located a male on top of a female. The male was arrested and lodged into cells. He was released and compelled to court July 2020.
May 9th, 2020 – Disturbing the Peace
The RCMP received a report of a female going door to door asking for police to be contacted. Members attended and located the female. She requested a drive to the MAT program as she was asked to leave a camper due to her behaviour.
