Please be advised that the there are five (5) public hearings scheduled for the April 7th Council Meeting.

Public Hearing for April 7th, 2020 - Bylaw #01-2020

Town Council is giving consideration to amending Land Use Bylaw #22-2007.  The proposed amending Bylaw #01-2020 adds regulations for landscaping for Apartments, additional regulations for the RR1 District and demolition permit requirements. The section on Construction Workforce Facility is being removed as the definition was previously removed.

Public Hearing for April 7th, 2020 - Bylaw #02-2020

Town Council is considering amending the Municipal Land Use Plan Map of the Municipal Development Plan by re-designating as follows: Lot 14, Block 20, Plan 142 1046 (108 – 4 Avenue NE), From Downtown to Institutional

Public Hearing for April 7th, 2020 - Bylaw #03-2020

Town Council is considering amending the Downtown and Main Street Area Plan Map of the Downtown and Main Street Area Plan by re-designating as follows: Lot 14, Block 20, Plan 142 1046 (108 – 4 Avenue NE), From Downtown North to Institutional

Public Hearing for April 7th, 2020 - Bylaw #04-2020 (Amend Bylaw #22-2007)

Town Council is considering amending the Land Use District Map of the Land Use Bylaw #22-2007 by re-districting as follows: Lot 14, Block 20, Plan 142 1046, From CDC – Council Direct Control District to I – Institutional District

Public Hearing for April 7th, 2020 - Bylaw #07-2020

Town Council is giving consideration to amending Land Use Bylaw #22-2007. The amending bylaw proposes amendments to Part 1, General, Section 3 by adding a definition for Food Production. This amendment will also add Food Production as a discretionary use to the C1 – Downtown Commercial Mixed-Use District.

If you or any group of citizens support or are opposed to the proposed amendments please deliver a letter to the Town Office no later than Thursday, April 2, 2020 or contact the Planning Department at 780-849-8004 to verbally make a presentation at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

For more details, copies of the bylaws are available for inspection at the Town office.  

PLEASE NOTE - To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 the Town of Slave Lake Office will be closed Monday to Thursday each week. The Town Office will be open Fridays from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. including over the lunch hour.
