Slave Lake RCMP Locate Stolen Side-by-Side

RCMP News Release (Summer)

Slave Lake, Alta - On May 27 at 3:00 AM, RCMP members were conducting patrols through the southwest quadrant of town when they noticed an individual unloading a side-by-side from a trailer in Fournier Place.  Members approached the individual who fled from the scene in a dark coloured pickup truck at a high rate of speed.  Given the nature of the occurrence and concern for public safety, RCMP members did not chase after the truck.  The side-by-side and trailer were left behind.

Investigation into the matter found that the trailer had been reported stolen in High Level while the side-by-side had been stolen in Slave Lake, unbeknownst to the owner.  A search of the side-by-side found a loaded prohibited firearm.

RCMP continue to investigate this matter.  The suspect vehicle is described as follows:

- Dark colored pickup truck.  Possibly a Dodge Ram.

- Clean and very shiny.

- Black canopy covering the truck bed.

The suspect was last observed driving westbound on Highway 2 towards Widewater.

Investigation into this matter continues.  Slave Lake RCMP are asking the public's assistance for any information in relation to this incident or identifying those responsible. Please contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3999 or your local police.
