Slave Lake RCMP lay charges after several violent occurrence

RCMP News Update

Slave Lake, Alta. - On December 10, 2018 at 4:30 PM, an individual called police asking for help.  The victim reported that he had been assaulted by three people and had his money stolen.  Suspects were soon identified and efforts to locate them commenced.

On December 17, 2018 at 8:00 PM, a member of the Slave Lake RCMP was conducting patrols when a suspect from the December 10 robbery was spotted.  The officer approached the male and informed him that he was under arrest.  The male ran away with the officer giving chase.  During the foot chase, the suspect is alleged to have sprayed the officer with bear spray.  The officer was not injured but the suspect was able to get away.

On December 19, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM, the same suspect was spotted by plain clothes officers in the are of the Nova apartments.  When approached by the officers the suspect again ran on foot.  The suspect ran into the apartment complex and hid in one of the units.  As officers prepared to make entry into the apartment, the suspect climbed onto a neighbours balcony where he was subsequently arrested. 

Chase Aubrey Ings (20) of Slave Lake has been charged with sixteen (16) offences including robbery, assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.

Ings is set to speak to these matters in Edmonton Provincial Court on December 27, 2018.  A court date in Slave Lake will be set at that time. 

Robbery charges have been laid against two other males in relation to the December 10 incident.  Jordan Courtoreille (26) and Dakota Auger (24) of Slave Lake have been charged and are in custody.  They are set to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court on January 2, 2019.
